About Jim

Headshot of author Jim Donaher

I started writing in 2001, just after having brain surgery

and faced with a long period of healing.

I started a spiritual exploration in 2013, when I realized

that I was not getting younger and the distance I was from

God was going to be a problem.

Sparked by reading 'The Purpose Driven Life' by Pastor

Rick Warren, I began to study God's word, learning more

and more about the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

and how they were intimately involved in every aspect of

my life.

My goal in my writing is to point out how, in the course of everyday life where, as Forrest Gump once said, 'God showed up.' Or shows up.  Or will show up.

I also like to highlight 'What would Jesus do?" moments when there is a right thing to do - Jesus' way - or the way that we might respond otherwise.

In 2019, I felt called to write a book detailing my prayer habit, how it started and grew, and how readers can experience peace, comfort, and closeness in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

The book is unique because I'm not a pastor, a bible scholar, a divinity student or any other type of expert. I'm just a guy with ADHD, four years worth of prayer journals, and a desire to encourage others in their quest for peace, joy, and salvation through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

The book, 'Call Him, He's Home: A Regular Person's Guide to Prayer' has been published. You can order a copy by clicking here

My first novel, which was started in 2001 (I told you I have ADHD!) is in process and I hope to publish it in 2021 as well. That project is growing roots and may have multiple books in it.

I also have a blog where I have accumulated over 100 pieces discussing a range of issues large and small. Feel free to comment and share. I think some of them are pretty good!

I grew up in Weymouth, Massachusetts, and still live in Eastern Massachusetts. I like to garden, mow my lawn (like Forrest, I have a tractor!), and watch basset hound videos on the internet. I also like bears. So much so that a bear is my unofficial logo.

God bless you!

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
